Made to expire - the institute of digital fashion, a global collaboration merging the real and digital through 3d fashion.
My 3d garment submission is inspired by a Victorian dandy and a shirt I own , the shirt takes reference from a Victorian shirt pattern , I am really interested in recontextualizing the dandy through this genderless floating shirt, a empty shirt that’s cut and tailored to blend masculine and feminine traits allowing a space for all to inhabit. The shirts pattern is taken from 2 art works made by my self exploring masculinity in art history, the art work on the shirt is a rendered interoperation of saint Sebastian . The shirt acts it’s cultural legacy through its art history past and it’s genderless 3d future . I have created a set of 3 animations showing the shirt walking in different environments.
